EksoNR (eksoBIONICS) is a robotic exoskeleton specifically designed for use in rehabilitation settings to improve patient outcomes. EksoNR is the first exoskeleton to treat acquired brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury, and offers the industry's most natural gait by retraining the brain and muscles to walk properly.
EksoNR helps patients bear only their own weight with proper posture to minimize treatment time.
Sensors and software continuously monitor and adjust leg movements to minimize compensatory gait patterns. Set training goals and change assistance levels in real time for each leg independently based on the patient’s capabilities.
EksoNR includes PreGait: a set of programs to help patients maintain balance, transfer weight, squat, and stand up.
Some exoskeletons are designed to be used as an assistive device for patients with spinal cord injury and provide 100% of the power needed for walking. In addition to being the only exoskeleton approved by the FDA for ABI, EksoNR is also a true rehabilitation tool for physical therapists, challenging their patients by requiring active participation, which is known to promote brain plasticity.
EksoNR promotes proper posture and the most natural gait possible, so therapists can focus on treatment.
Gait training in the EksoNR improves functional balance off-device in people with motor partial spinal cord injury. Incorporating EksoNR gait training during rehabilitation improves the patient's off-device gait speed at discharge compared to admission.
The EksoNR comes with two sets of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, allowing for continuous use of the exoskeleton.
