EksoUE is an upper-body exoskeleton designed to assist the affected shoulder and arm during rehabilitation. With EksoUE, patients can perform rehabilitation sessions with higher intensity and a wider active range of motion.
Ekso Bionics, a leader in exoskeleton technology for medical and industrial applications, is expanding its portfolio of medical exoskeletons to include upper-body rehabilitation devices. The EksoUE, a portable upper-body exoskeleton, supports patients suffering from upper-body paralysis or weakness and aims to offer them a greater range of motion, greater endurance and intensity of therapy sessions.
The upper-body exoskeleton is worn like a jacket that is attached to the waist, arms and wrists. Mobility is provided by passive mechanisms on the shoulders and does not require batteries. EksoUE is FDA registered as a Class I medical device. It is the first of its kind portable device that helps with upper limb rehabilitation.
EksoUE - allows the patient to perform a wider active range of motion in all planes, supporting 180° of motion. The exoskeleton can be used while sitting, standing and moving.
NATURAL MOVEMENT PATTERN: EksoUE - supports the patient's arm with minimal intervention, providing a more natural movement than other devices or traditional therapy. The spring principle of operation allows for continuous use without recharging, as there is no battery - completely mechanical operation. Easily reconfigurable for different strength levels and sizes, adaptable to a wide range of patients and purposes.
EksoUE can be used both sitting and standing, it is not tied to static equipment, making it ideal for functional daily living or play.
To be able to use the exoskeleton, the patient must be able to actively achieve at least 20 degrees of active shoulder flexion to use the device.
Device weight = 5.44 kg.
