Sometimes children can lose their natural desire to move due to illness or an accident. This lack of movement can lead to complications. The MOTOmed gracile12 allows the child to move regardless of physical limitations.

1. Passive. Smooth, regular movement of the legs or arms can relax the muscles and regulate muscle tone.

2. Motor-assistant. The "ServoCycling" function detects weak muscle impulses.

Even with minimal muscle strength, you can help your child engage in active training.

3. Active resistance. Using their own muscle strength, children can actively move against precisely adjusted resistance levels. This can help significantly improve strength, endurance and coordination to achieve better gait stability.

The children's model MOTOmed gracile12 is a motorized exercise machine for movement mechanotherapy, which is designed for the needs of children. The distance between the pedal platforms of the MOTOmed gracile12 is only 12 cm, so even small children or people of short stature can train on it. This helps prevent overstraining of the hip and knee joints. The height-adjustable pedal platforms can be adjusted to the optimal position depending on the length of the legs. This way, the MOTOmed gracile12 grows with your child.

The MOTOmed exercise machine has many safety features, such as "Spasm relief", "Movement protection" and "Spasticity recognition". This allows safe daily mechanotherapy sessions even for patients with physical limitations.

In addition to the leg trainer, there is also a combined model for training the legs and arms/upper body. The upper module for the arms/upper body can be rotated by 180°. Arm and upper body training strengthens the arm, upper body, and shoulder muscles, as well as the respiratory muscles.

Children who have the physical ability to train in an active mode can make the MOTOmax figure "jump for joy" and thereby score points. If the force on the pedals is applied evenly by both feet or hands, the MOTOmax figure jumps for joy and rewards the user with a smile.

Interface

The controls of the MOTOmed gracile12 trainer are carefully designed to make the machine easier to use. The keys for moving to the next level are highlighted in color. The keys on the control panel are slightly convex for improved tactile sensations. All operating tips and training feedback can be displayed in 27 different languages.

The MOTOmed gracile12 takes up the same amount of space as a regular chair. To start training, simply turn the MOTOmed gracile12 towards the training area your child prefers, such as a bedroom, living room or an outdoor area on a sunny day. Your child can begin training with the MOTOmed gracile12 from the safety of a wheelchair or chair.

MOTOmed® SpasmControl

This is a particularly sensitive and gentle technology that provides training that protects joints and muscles. The continuous movement pattern with movement support helps to slowly reduce persistent muscle tension (high muscle tone / spasticity). This feature can relieve muscle pain in children.

MOTOmed® MovementProtector

In the event of spasticity or muscle spasms, this safety function gently stops the pedal movement. The advantage of this function is that the MOTOmed gracile12 optimally and continuously adapts to the muscle tone.

MOTOmed® SpasmControl

After the pedal movement is stopped by the MovementProtector function, an automatic reversal of direction is activated. The legs and arms relax and the direction of rotation is reversed after a short rest period. This forward and backward movement pattern is repeated until the spasms and spasticity disappear. This process simulates the following therapeutic principle: a spasm in flexion is relieved by extension, and a spasm in extension is relieved by flexion.

MOTOmed® ServoCycling

MOTOmed recognizes the slightest muscle impulse and actively helps your child complete a full cycle. This allows your child to engage in active training even with minimal effort. Targeted MOTOmed gracile12 training can often help your child regain residual muscle strength to the point where he or she has self-control.

Child-friendly pedal spacing. The MOTOmed gracile12 is designed with a small pedal spacing of 12 cm / 4.7 in. The child-friendly pedal spacing helps to avoid unnatural tension and ensures a safe workout.

Height adjustment The MOTOmed gracile12 is the only therapeutic exercise device for children that provides a stepless height adjustment of the pedal handle and footrest from 26 cm to 46 cm / 10.2 in to 18 in. Thanks to this, the MOTOmed gracile12 can be precisely adapted to the individual length of the child's leg, as well as wheelchairs of different types and seat heights.

The child grows - the MOTOmed gracile12 grows with it. The MOTOmed gracile12 can be used by children with a minimum height of 90 cm / 35 in. They can continue to use it as teenagers and adults.
