Immunological analyzers

Immunological analyzers

Immunoassay analyzers are used to perform various types of immunological tests for laboratory purposes. A fully automatic immunoassay analyzer is a compact device with a built-in computer, keyboard, and printer. The equipment is widely used in hospitals and clinical laboratories.

What is an immunoassay analyzer

70% of medical decisions are made based on diagnostic results from clinical laboratories. To reduce the risk of errors while allowing laboratory personnel to focus on providing quality results, modern diagnostic equipment is used. Hospitals and clinical laboratories use immunoassay analyzers to perform a variety of tests covering many medical specialties.

To fight germs or foreign substances, the immune system produces antibodies. These are proteins that can catch and stop “intruders” from causing harm to the body. Like a key that fits a lock, different specific antibodies are produced for each germ or foreign substance.

Immunoassays used in laboratories are performed by producing artificial antibodies that precisely match the substance or microbe in question. When these antibodies come into contact with a blood, mucous membrane, urine or stool sample that contains the substance or microbe in question, they bind to it. So the reaction shows that the specific microbe or substance is present.

Immunoassay analyzers are used in clinical laboratories and hospitals to determine protein, bacterial or viral toxins, drug concentrations, infectious diseases, allergy and endocrine hormone testing, cardiac markers. Immunoassays can also be used to diagnose congenital or acquired immune system diseases, differentiate between different forms of rheumatoid arthritis or monitor the progression of an existing disease such as certain types of cancer.

How the analyzer works

Immunoassays vary in configuration, testing options and sophistication. They can be classified into different types based on the method of use, reagent compatibility or sampling mode.

Use mode:

  • Automatic analyzers: The device automatically mixes samples with reagents. These models are suitable for analyzing large numbers of samples.
  • Semi-automated analyzers: The operator mixes the samples with reagents. These models are particularly well suited for analyzing small quantities of samples. In semi-automated analyzers, the operator controls the test sequence.

Reagent compatibility:

  • Open systems: compatible with reagents of various brands.
  • Closed systems: compatible only with the reagents of the device manufacturer.

Sampling mode:

  • Random sampling: the enzyme immunoassay analyzer randomly selects samples, i.e. in any order.
  • Continuous (or sequential) sampling: samples are accessed in the order in which they are located in the rack.

You can order an immunoassay analyzer in Ukraine that offers the widest range of tests using different immunoassay methodologies:

  • enzyme immunoassay;
  • radioimmunoassay;
  • immunofluorescence assay;
  • chemiluminescence immunoassay.

The prices for ELISA analyzers vary.

Immunochemiluminescent and immunoenzyme research methods

These methods are used to diagnose the following indicators: allergic reactions and food intolerance, diabetes, anemia, thyroid gland, cardio indicators, hepatitis B and C, urogenital infections, cancer, TORCH infections (intrauterine transmission), prenatal screening in pregnant women, female hormones. It is worth noting that the range of research is constantly expanding.

Why is the ICL diagnostic method better:

  • Immunology laboratories have begun to favor chemiluminescent assays for several reasons.
  • Firstly, the highest possible accuracy and sensitivity (more than 90%)
