For Holter heart monitoring or Holter ECG, installation takes only about 15 minutes and is completely painless. Five self-adhesive electrodes are placed on the patient's chest skin and sealed with adhesive tape. The device is connected and placed in a bag placed on a shoulder strap or belt.

The Holter blood pressure monitor is put on in just a few minutes. An inflatable blood pressure cuff is placed on the less active arm, i.e. the left arm for right-handed people and the right arm for left-handed people. The cuff is then connected to a programmable automatic recording device that records and saves all data regarding blood pressure measurements taken during the day.

In all three cases, the patient is given a journal to record the main events of the day and the time of their occurrence:

getting up;
going to bed;
eating;
taking medications;
physical activity.

The patient is also asked to record any symptoms that may occur during these activities: palpitations, chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, loss of consciousness.
