Vacuum tube with sodium heparin
Anticoagulant:
Sodium heparin
Heparin is a natural anticoagulant found in any healthy body. Heparin is intended to produce intercellular substance of liquid blood tissue used in biochemical research.
This substance - freed from cells by centrifuging a portion of the blood, which is prevented from clotting by adding an anticoagulant immediately after collection. For this, lithium or sodium heparin salt is added to the test tubes, which guarantees complete inactivation of blood coagulation and does not distort the studied parameters.
Benefits over blood serum:
⇒ More material volume with the same blood volume
⇒ Independence of the results from the state of the coagulation system
⇒ The results are closer to the state of blood in vivo.
⇒ Less risk of hemolysis and thrombocytosis
Material for research:
heparinized plasma
Dry heparin is applied to the inner wall of the tube.
The tubes contain a reagent at the rate of 12 - 30 IU of heparin per 1 ml of blood.
Immediately after filling the tube and removing it from the holder, the sample must be thoroughly mixed by inverting 8–10 times.
Centrifugation conditions:
1300 g for 10 min.
Centrifugation should be performed immediately after blood collection.
