The operation of the Prisma 30ST non-invasive ventilator is as follows. In the compressor, built into the body of the device, through a filter comes from outside air, then under a preset pressure air flow is delivered to the patient's lungs, through a mask with a breathing circuit.

The used air from the lungs is discharged into the environment through the circuit. This takes place via an exhalation outlet, either in front of the mask or optionally integrated into the mask itself. This completely eliminates the risk of carbon dioxide (CO2) accumulation in the patient's breathing circuit.

The Prisma 30ST non-invasive ventilator is able to recognize changes in the patient's breathing based on respiratory flow and pressure readings. The device can be operated either in CPAP mode (one pressure level) or BiLevel mode (two or three pressure levels).

The mode selection is set either automatically by the device itself or manually by the nursing staff. Based on the selected mode, the air can be supplied at one level continuously, or regulated by a timer or switched manually by the patient.
